The 2021 EP "Black Death Phantom" from genre stalwarts NUNSLAUGHTER will be available on limited edition cassette tape this Friday, August 6th beginning at 3:00 PM (EST). A limited number of cassette tapes will come bundled with an exclusive patch.

Founded in 1987, it would be a colossal understatement to refer to NUNSLAUGHTER as 'old school death metal.' This long-running Devil Metal act have a huge discography and an unmistakable sound that abandons frills and wankery in favor of raw ferocity.

"Black Death Phantom" features 6 songs and was originally released solely on CD earlier this year. A precursor to the band's forthcoming full-length album "Red is the Color of Ripping Death" (out August 27th on HELL'S HEADBANGERS), this EP is guaranteed to satiate your vile lust in the meantime.

This is my personal favorite album of 2021. It's very difficult to have each track be noticeably different from one another while maintaining a clear and cohesive musical theme for an album. Wharflurch does that and more with this LP. Fantastic grooves, riffs, blasts, transitions, solos, and ambience. Also one of the few albums I've listened to that truly sounded "psychedelic". An outstanding Extreme doom death album, in the best tradition. The funerary atmosphere reminds of Evoken ('Centuries of ooze" bears striking similarities, for my delight). It is overall sharp, dark, hypnotic and unrelenting. One of those rare convincing new bands that hold proud the legacy of the biggest names. Bertrand Marchal
